A multi purpose backfeed preventer for lead rope soloing. This device clamps the rope and blocks against a carabiner to create one-directional feed prevention.
The Pinch Cinch is useful for a variety of scenarios where you want to add backfeed prevention to a standard rope clipping carabiner, but don't have a cincher pre-installed on that carabiner. Or, you only want single-direction feed prevention. Having one or two on your LRS rack will prove handy on many pitches!
Best use scenarios:
Trad Placements - tension the rope against backfeeding, but the gear is not pulled upwards in the case of a fall
Permadraws - add backfeed prevention as you climb past, without needing a pre-installed Soft Cinch on that fixed draw carabiner.
Anchor Tensioning - Tension your LRS anchor upwards easily with one hand while climbing. Specifically for absorber anchors with lots of rope movement, the rope does not slide through the rubber, so it won't wear out as fast as our other cinching devices.
Key Features:
Single Direction Backfeed Prevention
Great for backfeed prevention on nuts or cams where you want to avoid upward pulls in the case of a fall.
Add Backfeed Prevention to your Permadraw Project
This rope clamp is designed to block against the body of a carbiner to add backfeed prevention without needing to be installed on the carabiner itself.
Great for Other Off-Label Clamping Uses
This thing is basically a super tech clothes pin, with a variety of fun uses. Tarp clamp for an El Cap sun shade while waiting for good conditions? Rope blocker to add friction to the brake strand of your GriGri? On route clothes pin for your sweaty sun shirt?
Absolutely game changer for lead rope soloing peace of mind, big fan of utilizing it on the first piece post anchor while adventure climbing. Easy to use, simple, and reliable. It’s also a great tool for maintaining direction of pull on potentially shifty placements like this chicken head I had to lasso the other day. Thanks for all your hard work Brent.
The David of rubber paper clips.
Works exactly how it is intended to. Fuss-free, reliable, modular. Accessory carabiner can be attached to the piece a few different ways.
I've found myself most commonly using it on the first piece above the anchor, for quick upward tensioning of the anchor. This helps me save a Soft-Cinch backfeed preventer draw for a little later on.
Can also be used mid-route in conjunction with Soft-Cinch, etc.

Quick easy to use works well. Save lots of faff trying to use a prussick on first piece to make anchor pull in correct location. Working well on short gritstone routes in UK
One of the most valuable and versatile tools a soloist can have.
I use pinch cinches for trad anchor tensioning and sometimes I use them for permadraw routes.
I wouldn't go on an adventure without one.
