Took my Avant t-shirt and my snack pack pouch up a 7 pitch climb near Alpental in Washington state today and everything worked perfect. The t-shirt is super comfortable, and the snack pouch plus the tether for the phone is so functional. As a matter of fact I actually had an extra tether and phone insert which I gave to my climbing partner and guide, and he said it was such a good concept so that he didn't have to worry about dropping his phone in the phone insert is really practical. Love the t-shirt and the snack pouch!
There are two rope protectors for sale at Avant, I got the longer beefier one and I love it. It does work as described, with one hand, easy peasy. Where I mostly climb (the Pinnacles in California), I think it might be even better to have two of them, as the anchors are often way far back and there are essentially two points of contact between rope and rock. The way I use the device is to connect it to the rope right by the anchor, and as I start rapping, I 'drag' it with me until I find the best placement. I stop dragging and continue rapping.
I used the Snack Pack Multipitch Storage Pouch in the Alps and found it fantastic.
I carried it with me on the approach and throughout the climb, and it was incredibly useful to have all the small essentials right there with me without needing to stop and open my backpack every time.
More importantly, your phone stays safe, secure and easily accessible, which is especially useful when you need it for navigation, photos or communication during the climb.
It’s practical, easy to access and doesn’t get in the way while climbing. On long multipitch and alpine routes, having snacks, gloves, glasses, your phone and other small essentials immediately to hand makes a real difference.
A simple piece of kit, but one I’ll definitely keep using.
I like this rope protector it helps when there is an edge that is vertical so you can’t lay a towel or something on it and it stays put so the rope doesn’t get frayed.
I absolutely love the Hydro Hauler Water Bottle Sleeve from AVANT Climbing. It is exceptionally well made, the fit is perfect, and it keeps the bottle secure while climbing. Highly recommended!
Works great! I feel safe knowing the exact amount of slack in the system. I’m considering getting another pack to add 2-3 more draws to my dedicated LRS rack. I find that my confidence goes up when I clip one of these before hard moves.
Thanks Avant!
During multipitch climbing, the phone lease is ideaal for taking pictures and looking on the topo; the flexible cord and the pivot on the small carabiner make use and excess easy and secure. Never climb without it.
Service from Avant Climbing is the best.

I love the approach hat. It's light and stylish. My only complaint is that it is too stylish. I've found myself climbing with partners again due to my increased vanity. It renders all other Avant gear useless. I'd love to see an approach hat with all the functionality of this version but with a colorway that's ugly as sin... or maybe fedora with safari flaps in back. Please make this happen so I can go back to using all my other Avant solo gear!
Rivelin quarries trial run UK gritstone. These work great! Easy to use. Much better now rope not backfeeding all the time. Especially useful on the short routes i tend to do
Now this one is essential and because I currently use aluminium duel lock biners this rules out any cross loading which is good to know and gives pease of mind when above your first couple placements.
I got two of these but only use one on my system as per photo... Its such a nice catch.. I'm 63kg and two of them don't even stretch much when I fall so I'm good with one. I went with the back up fall arrester but just use rope now as it was too bulky to stick clip and the rope is more than enough. Wouldn't leadsolo without this product.
This is a must.. No worries about line sag back and build up of slack in the system... Best solution so far that I've seen. Well done! Gets some they are a game changer
Works brilliantly I've used it to keep gear, phone and keys in when lead Soloing and its a handy bit of kit for long routes and days on the rock. Will use for snacks on the long days
This is a game changer and works perfectly, I shorten it with the drawstring otherwise its a bit soft if you have a decent loop to pull up and the grigri plus locks a bit. But overall I like the system and it has kept me safe for the last few trips.
Absolutely game changer for lead rope soloing peace of mind, big fan of utilizing it on the first piece post anchor while adventure climbing. Easy to use, simple, and reliable. It’s also a great tool for maintaining direction of pull on potentially shifty placements like this chicken head I had to lasso the other day. Thanks for all your hard work Brent.
